Sensata Technologies to Acquire Honeywell’s On-Board Sensor Business

Morris Township-based Honeywell International is planning to vend its automotive on-board sensing devices firm to Sensata Technologies for $140 million.

The company manufactures transmission sensors, crankshafts, wheel speed sensing devices and many other associated products for the automobile fabricators across the globe. According to Honeywell, the company’s yearly business is approximately $130 million and this trade is part of the Sensing and Control division of Honeywell.

The agreement has to get regulatory certifications and is likely to be accomplished by the fist quarter of 2011.
