Omega Engineering Launches Calibrator to Measure RTD Sensors

Omega Engineering has launched an automated calibrator called the CL514-PLUS to study and quantify all RTD equipment and compute the RTD sensors. The calibrator can be connected effortlessly to the instruments to be measured.

The CL514-PLUS is a low profile switch, which is rough and has a rubber boot for protection. This allows the calibrator to be used in a field, plant or shop. The instrument’s backside-eliminated display permits it to operate effortlessly even in the dark places of the plant. The device eliminates the usage of RTD resistance tables or a decade box and temperature measurement can be calibrated directly in °F or °C.

Omega Automated Universal RTD Calibrator

The CL514-PLUS functions with various RTD curves such as nickel 100 and 120 ohms, copper 10 and 50 ohms, platinum 100 ohms (?= 3850, 3902, 3926) and platinum 1000 ohms (?= 3850, 3750).

The CL514-PLUS comes with an adjustable digital potentiometer called “DIAL” plus, which stores any three temperature values for immediate recollect. The calibrator can set any value rapidly within 0.1° with an automatic output stepping. By selecting from 2,3,5,11 to 21 steps, the output can be incremented automatically in 100%, 50%, 25%, 10% or 5% of span. The step time chosen should match the system’s time between 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 60 seconds.

The CL514-PLUS can be hooked up directly to RTD inputs such as controllers, PLCs, multichannel recorders, and smart transmitters to check the yields and displays of the inputs. The calibrator can be employed to identify busted wires, and compute and diagnose trouble in the connections of RTD sensors. The calibrator computes the RTD, which has two, three, or four wires, automatically in °C or °F.
