Today, Plextek has been honored with a King’s Award for Enterprise for Innovation, marking a major milestone for the business. Now in its 60th year, Plextek is one of just 185 organizations across the UK to receive this prestigious recognition in 2026, celebrating outstanding achievement in innovation for its breakthrough PLX-T60 technology, an ultra-compact, reconfigurable sensing platform designed and engineered in the UK.
At its core, the PLX-T60 demonstrates how British innovation can solve complex, real-world challenges across industries. In space, our technology is already being deployed in orbit and is being further developed with the support of multiple International Space Agencies and Satellite Manufacturers to support critical space sustainability missions, enabling satellites to safely locate and remove hazardous debris. Its highly efficient, adaptable design delivers powerful performance while using significantly less power and space than traditional technologies, opening up new possibilities not only in space, but also across the defence, healthcare, and wider industrial sectors.
