Novel World-Beam QS30 Series Sensors

Banner Engineering has added two mid-range modifiable-field sensing devices to its World-Beam QS30 series for widening the company's progressive line of short as well as long-range of adaptable-field sensors.

With the advent of a 128 pixel linear camera the QS30 sensors are unaffected by the vibrational and mechanical shock, providing improved image processing for extending the range and lowering the effects of focussed colour.

The QS30AFF400 sensor provides foreground suppression for the secure identification of target substances differing in shape or colour when a stable background exists. In contrast, the QS30AF600 sensing unit offers a secure identification of objects when the background is not regulated or kept constant, and it discounts the substances situated outside the sensor field limit. The sensing range for the versions can be modified with a screwdriver potentiometer or through the remote teaches cable input. Apart from that, the visible red LED sensing beam of the sensors provides simplified sensor arrangement.

These water-resistant QS30AF/AFF models are epoxy shielded in an IP67-certified enclosure, ideal for extreme industrial environment applications. These models are available in varied mounting options, and features a 30 mm side mount or threaded barrel, and the sensors provide improved suppleness for use in different purposes. Three varied interface options, having 2m, 9m rapid-disconnect and 150mm pigtail rapid-disconnect are also accessible.

The QS30AF600 model offers a modifiable cutoff range in the range of 50mm to 600 mm, having a sensing range up to 400 mm for the 6% black card sensor and have 600 mm for the 90% white card sensor. The 6% black card sensor also provides a minimal sensing range called the dead zone of 30mm.
