Headset Enhances Communications with Voice Alerts

Plantronics has launched the Voyager PRO UC Bluetooth headset that makes communications easy for mobile users by combining voice presence across multiple smart phones and PC–based soft phones.

The technology helps the headset to detect intuitively when it is held against the ear, so that calls can be attended without having to press any buttons. Incoming calls can be attended by turning the Smart Set on (dON). If the Smart Set is turned off (dOff) calls will be turned back to the phone. If the set is not in use, the call button will get locked to avoid dialing by mistake. Its voice alerts also warn of balance talk time and battery level.

The device provides noise-cancellation with AudioIQ2 digital signal processing, and an adjustable dual-microphone boom. The Smart Set incorporates three layers of Wind Smart technology to reduce wind distortion and provide for good inbound audio quality. The device also provides compatibility with communication clients from Avaya, Cisco, IBM and Skype and is maximized for Microsoft Lync and Office Communicator.
