RFID Sensor Systems Introduces New Metal-Mount Tag

A new metal mount tag that is completely passive RF-enabled has been added by RFID Sensor Systems to the Ultra High Frequency EPC global Class-1 Generation 2 tags operating over the 860 to 960 MHz spectrum.

The new tag has been named ST070-016 and it operates with standard North American readers unto a range of 40 feet when mounted on metals. The user memory is of 16-kilobytes and the read-write range is almost equal. This characteristic makes the new tag most suited for monitoring vehicles at tollways and applications that require supply chain efficiency. The new tag is very rugged and hence is suitable for various harsh environments such as military and also for applications where moderate exposure to gamma radiation is encountered.

The ST070-016 tag consists of the RFID Sensor System Long Ranger miniature antenna technology, which is combined with very low power Ramtron MaxArias Wireless Memory. This combination helps match the top industry standards in read/write capacity and memory capacity. The F-RAM memory gives high-endurance and low power, which provides stability against gamma radiation exposure.

The ST070-016 RFID Sensor Tag being the latest entry in the RFID Sensor family of tags that can be used over an extended-range is capable of giving a small transponder footprint using the patent pending miniature antenna technology and efficient extraction of RF energy. The new tag is currently available for bulk delivery and comes along with the standard screw mounting and magnetic Velcro, which is optional.
