Konica Minolta Sensing Unveils FD-Series Spectrodensitometers at Infoflex

Konica Minolta Sensing Americas (KMSA) has declared that it would participate in the Infoflex 2011, which would be held at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis during May.

KMSA unveiled two new models of their FD Spectrodensitometers at this convention. The Spectrodensitometers are capable of measuring density and colour depending on the fluorescence of a paper substrate. Both these models are handheld models and are lightweight. FD-5 and FD-7 are designed to provide measurements that adhere to FIRST (Flexographic Image Reproduction Specifications & Tolerances). KMSA showcased the FD-Series Spectrodensitometers at booth number 1132 at the Infoflex.

The FD-5 has an intelligent user interface that gives quick measurements for the press operators. Using this sensor, the operators can effectively monitor both the density and colorimetric production run. The FD-7 on the other hand has similar functionalities as the FD-5 and an added feature of being able to monitor paper, inks and can even sense the lighting intensity of the plant. When the FD-7 is used in the scanning mode, it can create ICC profiles and perform measurements at the rate of 400 times per second. Therefore, it can provide color metric or spectrophotometric data, which can be fed into the ICC colour management software. Both the models can provide repeatable data and have very good compatibility when communicating color within plants, with brand management companies and between printing locations.
