Cypress Semiconductor, a provider of programmable timing devices, system-on-chip solutions, memories and touch sensing solutions for touchscreens, announced that its CapSense touch-sensing solution has been selected by Clarion for driving the audio control touch panel on the Suzuki MR Wagon.
The capacitive touch panel is stylish, functional and easy to operate. It has a standard size and features 22 different types of control functions, including channel selection and volume control functions. The touch panel contains Cypress’s automotive-qualified CY8C21534 CapSense chip, which meets Automotive Quality Systems standards.
Cypress’s CapSense devices can be used for exterior automotive applications such as passive keyless-entry and trunk release buttons. In interior automotive applications, they can be used for navigation, lighting, AC and audio control. The CapSense devices are more durable than mechanical sliders and buttons. They are water-resistant, reliable and have noise immunity. The devices are designed to perform even under harsh environments.
