Monico Creates NOx Gateway to Monitor Gas Emissions

Monico engineers have made the NOx Gateway, an addition to its monitoring products portfolio to control Nitrogen Oxide gas emissions formed while burning up natural gas in an internal combustion engine.

NOx Gateway helps combine aftermarket NOx sensors utilized with control systems or SCADA to obtain relevant emissions data and convey that data to a collective system or collect it with real-time data stamping for analyzing later. The Caterpillar NOx Sensor is a common example for these sensors, while Bi-fuel systems and Natural Gas Compressors are common applications where gas is introduced into diesel engines as a substitute for diesel fuel. In the continuously changing field of emissions monitoring, the NOx Gateway enables working with reporting and monitoring regulations convenient and effective.

The NOx Gateway comprises other features such as 2 RS-232 ports, USB interface for programming, an Ethernet port, 1 RS-485 port, optional analog and digital I/O modules and C-UL consent for Class I – Division II Groups A-D stations. This gateway is completely compatible with the CDL Gateway to permit control, monitoring and communications with industrial generators and engines.

The NOx Gateway requires network specific data that includes drop number or IP address for its set-up and installation. A link light will acknowledge whether the product is properly installed or not. The NOx Gateway is entirely pre-configured, however small field arrangements can be completed through the MonicoView II software from Monico.
