Optris Launches CTratio1M Non-Contact Ratio Pyrometer

Optris, a technology company headquartered in Berlin and specializing in the manufacture of IR sensors such as IR thermal imaging cameras, IR thermometers and calibration sources, has announced the addition of the OptrisCTratio 1M to its range of high performance ratio pyrometers.

Optris CTratio 1M Ratio Pyrometer

The Optris CTratio1M is a non-contact ratio pyrometer developed for accurate temperature measurements in severe temperature ranges lying between 700°C and 1800°C.Integrating multiple interwoven fibre optic glass cables, the new measurement instrument is highly durable and break-resistant, making it ideal for use in ambient temperatures of up to 250°C without any need of cooling the measuring head. The CTratio1M pyrometer can also be installed in hostile and inaccessible areas.

The features of the CTratio 1M ratio pyrometer includes an instantaneous response time of 5 ms, an inbuilt laser to determine the exact spot across any expanse of space, standard 3 m to a maximum of 22 m cable length for easy installation, long-lasting sensing head as well as accurate measurement due to insensitivity towards dust.

Precise measurements are guaranteed even if the field of view is blocked, caused by fumes or other obstructions. This capacity makes the CTratio 1M ideal for use in harsh conditions, as prevalent in glass and metal industries.

By integrating ratio pyrometry, the pyrometer is made insensitive towards obstructions such as stained or unclean sight glasses, fumes and dust. This enables for reliable measurement by the IR sensor aiding in the implementation of quality assurance and process control even in unsuitable industrial settings. The available digital interfaces include Ethernet, RS232, USB, RS485, Profibus DP and CAN.

For user-customization of the sensor to the required setting, the CompactConnect software can be utilized. It supports multi-tasking, allows for remote-controlling and can be used to program sensor outputs.
