Xerium Reaches 200 Mark for its Pressure Sensing Paper Machine Press Roll

Xerium Technologies has announced that it has received the 200th order for its SmartRoll, which is a continuous pressure sensing paper machine press roll, using the SMART technology.

The SMART applications that are used by Xerium employ the proprietary embedded roll cover sensor system which helps in providing continuous real time data, optimising production, controlling costs and at the same time reducing the occurrence of errors.

According to the Chairman and CEO of the company Stephen R. Light ever since the product was first introduced two years back, the customers of the company are likely to have saved around $40 million in lesser production of energy and other costs. Xerium presently has 14 applications in the paper machine that make use of the SMART technology. The applications are based on an advanced system offered by the company for analysing and optimising moisture removal and measuring real time nip pressures. Xerium has been involved in the marketing of its SMART 4.0 technology from 2011 which provides advanced functions so that manufacturers can maximise output and reduce costs and at the same time enhance the features of their products. Xerium operates all over the world in different brand names and uses various proprietary technologies to provide customised solutions. The company has a total of 31 manufacturing facilities located in 14 countries.
