Rehabmart Offers Disposable Wearable Thermometers Designed by Medical Indicators

Rehabmart.com, an online e-commerce company for medical and rehabilitation supplies, has announced its collaboration with Medical Indicators to offer clinical thermometers to the large online consumer base.

Medical Indicators (MI), headquartered in Pennington, NJ, manufactures TraxIt reusable and NexTemp single-use clinical thermometers. The thermometers are FDA registered Class I medical devices and also conform to EN and ASTM E1299-96 safety requirements. The latex free thermometers are easy to use and provide a high degree of accuracy.

The NexTemp disposable thermometers do not need to be stored in controlled conditions and can be placed on counter tops, uniform pockets, ambulances and can be used in all environmental conditions. Regardless of the temperature conditions they are placed in, the thermometers remain accurate. The NexTemp disposable thermometers offer better infection control than offered by electronic predictive thermometers or tympanic thermometers. The infection control capability is vital since hospital acquired infections such as VRE, MRSA and antibiotic-resistant TB, as per studies, have reached epidemic levels.

The TraxIt wearable thermometer allows for axillary temperature readings for a period of 48 h. It can be easily adhered to the patient using its medical tape backing. The readings from majority of the available axillary temperatures can be inaccurate due to improper dwell times. The TraxIt system overcomes this problem by providing continuous monitoring, leading to a highly accurate reading. TraxIt is ideal for pediatric patients, ICU and post-anesthesia patients and for intubated patients.

The CEO of Rehabmart, Hulet Smith stated that the advanced and innovative temperature-taking devices developed by Medical Indicators will aid in controlling the spread of infection at healthcare facilities.
