Fluid Components Releases ST100 Series Flow Meter for Hazardous Environments

Fluid Components International has announced the availability of the ST100 Series Gas Thermal Mass Air / Gas Flow Meter. The ST100 Series gas flow meter has been designed for use in inaccessible locations and hazardous areas.

ST100 Series

Available in a remote mountable configuration, it can be used in hazardous factory locations where toxic and combustible gases may be present. The remote mount transmitter, available with an optional digital display, can be mounted at a distance of 300 m (1000 ft) from the flow sensor.

The feature-rich ST100 Series Flow Meter offers high quality flow sensing performance and unsurpassed value required by plant gas flow measurement applications. The low-maintenance ST100 solution featuring a backlit LCD readout / display can constantly measure, transmit and display an array of industrial parameters. Available with output options of frequency/pulse, 4-20 mA analog, alarm relay and digital bus communications including Modbus, Profibus, Fieldbus and HART, the future-ready ST100 solution adapts to the changing needs of the plant and can be upgraded easily using a plug-in card replacement.

The ST100 Flow Meter is a versatile solution capable of storing a maximum of five distinct calibration groups, thus accommodating a broad flow range to include different gases as well as mixtures of the same gas. Furthermore, users can choose and switch among 10 common gases using the SpectraCal Gas Equivalency calibration method. The featured on-board, programmable data logger can store 21 million readings in a 2GB micro-SD memory card. The readings are stored in ASCII format and can be exported to spreadsheets.

ST100 Series Flow Meters can be used to measure dirty, mixed and wet gases, including acetaldehyde, acetyl chloride, argon, bromine, carbon monoxide, chlorobenzene, deuterium oxide, fluoroform, methanol, mercury, krypton, methyl hydrazine, propanol, styrene, sulfur trioxide and toluene.

A triple-variable flow meter, the ST100 comprises two core families – the ST for temperature and mass flow measurement and the STP that enables users to calculate the pressure as well. The ST100 Series Flow Meters are available in ruggedized, water-proof enclosure.
