e-con Systems Unveils 5-MP UAC Autofocus USB Camera Module

e-con Systems declared the introduction of a USB Camera - e-CAM51_USB. This new offering features OmniVision’s OV5640 CMOS image sensor-based 5-MP pluggable Autofocus Camera Module e-CAM52_5640_MOD.

e-CAM51_USB: 5MP USB Camera Board

The e-CAM51_USB can support GPIO and microphone with an in-built analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The e-CAM51_USB has proven-compliance with USB Audio Class (UAC) and USB Video Class (UVC). It needs no driver installation on the PC side.

The e-CAM52_5640_MOD includes OmniVision’s OV5640 CameraChip sensor with an embedded ISP. Significant features of this sensor include automatic image control functions with automatic band filter (ABF), automatic exposure control (AEC), automatic white balance (AWB), automatic black level calibration (ABLC) and 50/60Hz automatic luminance detection.

The e-CAM51_USB supports most of these features via the standard UVC protocol enabling any third party application on Linux and Windows based Operating Systems. These systems can now efficiently work with the company’s USB camera. UVC Extension Unit interface supports the significant features of e-CAM51_USB including Manual focus, GPIO control, Autofocus control and status and more. e-con Systems provides Extended API DLL to the developers through which they can leverage these features as well as deliver sample application reflecting these features.

e-con Systems USB Camera - e-CAM51_USB can effectively carry out specialized applications such as Scientific Research, Telemedicine/Health, Document Camera Visualizers, Interactive Teaching & Meeting Solutions, OCR, Biometrics and Robotics. Some markets involve applications where 5-MP resolutions are mandatory.
