RAE Systems Releases RAEGuard 2 Photoionization Detector for VOC Monitoring

RAE Systems declared that its new RAEGuard 2 fixed head photoionization detector (PID) provides advanced monitoring capabilities for VOCs (volatile organic compounds).

The new RAEGuard 2 PIDs ensure consistent monitoring with rapid response times, increased level of accurate readings in fluctuating weather conditions, and low maintenance costs.

A PID is one of the major basic tools that facilitate measurement of toxic chemicals at ppm and now ppb levels and therefore of much importance to industrial safety personnel. PID monitors are being used extensively by solvent recovery systems, refineries and petrochemical plants, waste water treatment plants, power plants, painting and coating operations for environmental monitoring, thereby promoting safety.

The RAEGuard 2 PID provides constant VOC monitoring in hazardous as well as non-hazardous area locations. Using the company’s proprietary G3 PID sensor technology will help achieve a wide range of resolutions as low as 10 ppb and can be extended as high as 1000 ppm. Easily removable sensor module ensures minimal maintenance costs. The sensor and lamp are provided with easy detachment features. The flow through design featured with integrated pump ensures rapid response time and the addition of humidity compensation provides precise readings in varying atmospheric conditions.

Based on intelligent processing platform and digital sensor technology, the RAEGuard 2 PID supports multiple ranges and resolutions. It is ideal for deployment in outdoor as well as in risky environments due to its robust explosion-proof stainless steel covering. The PIDs have been crafted to facilitate easy removal of the digital PID module in harmful locations, leading to simplified calibration and minimal maintenance costs.

The RAEGuard 2 PID is currently available in Europe and other countries that meet ATEX and IECEx certification standards.
