Hillcrest Labs’ Motion Sensing Solution Now Integrated with Ozmo’s Wi-Fi Direct Technology

Hillcrest Labs, a market leader in multiplatform motion software and products, today announced an integrated motion sensing solution with Wi-Fi Direct technologies from fabless semiconductor company Ozmo Devices (Ozmo).

The joint solution combines Hillcrest's MotionEngine™ Smart TV software with Ozmo's ultra-low power, low-cost Wi-Fi Direct technologies for manufacturers of remote controls, Smart TVs, set-top boxes, and streaming media players.

Multiple companies will unveil new products using the joint solution from Hillcrest and Ozmo in early 2013.

Freespace MotionEngine is the same software embedded in the line of Roku 2 streaming media players and LG's Smart TVs. Other companies that have licensed Hillcrest's technology for use in their products include: Eastman Kodak, Logitech, SMK Electronics, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc., TCL Multimedia, Universal Electronics (UEI), and others.
