Hamburg biometrics expert DERMALOG Identification Systems GmbH was awarded with the IAIR Global Award 2014 in the business metropolis of Hong Kong on Friday evening in the category "Innovation and Leadership - regional" pays tribute to the leading role that the Hamburg-based company is playing in the area of biometrics, fingerprint scanners and AFIS (automatic fingerprint identification systems).

The biometric innovations from DERMALOG are unique in the world. The company sets new standards in the matching speed of fingerprints: its "Next Generation AFIS" is capable of correctly identifying the ten fingerprints of an individual with a matching speed of 129 million matches per second. In addition to this, the world's most secure liveness detection feature prevents fraud during the identification scan, because it recognizes plastic fingers and other fakes automatically.
