LAMBRECHT Develops New EOLOS-IND Thermal Wind Sensors

Wilh. LAMBRECHT GmbH has developed a novel thermal wind sensor named EOLOS-IND. This sensor, similar to a conventional hot wire anemometer, measures the flow by the heat movement of the air stream. Nevertheless, the measurement procedures and the sensor element are completely new.

Generally, in the measurement of heat flow, the two procedures “the constant stream” and “the constant overheating” are well known. LAMBRECHT developers have combined the advantages of the two procedures for making this new sensor that has high measuring accuracy.

High chemical resistance of the materials used for making the sensor, seawater resistant aluminium and the sensor housing’s optimal heating facilitate the sensor to be used under almost any climatic condition such as cold climate or offshore locations.

Apart from detecting wind direction and measuring wind speed, the new sensor measures dew point, air pressure, air humidity and air temperature. When used with a precipitation sensor of LAMBRECHT, the EOLOS-IND can record rainfall. When connected with LAMBRECHT’s MLC, the software SSDL and a PC or the MeteoLCD, the EOLOS-IND can function as a weather station.
