CasaTunes®, the leader in streaming multi-room music solutions, today announced its CasaTunes multi-room music servers support Control4, a home automation solution integrating lighting, music, video, climate control and security. Control4 can be used to control CasaTunes whole house music systems and CasaTunes streamers using Control4 touch panels, remotes, browser and Apps.
“CasaTunes is offering a robust music server for Control4 bringing more music options to Control4 dealers,” said David Krinker, CEO of CasaTunes. “The CasaTunes products can be used to provide a complete whole house audio solution for Control4 or can be used as an advanced music streamer and leverage the products already installed.”
The CasaTunes solution for Control4 adds significant new capabilities. Powered by CasaTunes Air, an intelligent multi-room switch for Apple Airplay, CasaTunes can seamlessly stream music from any popular music App, including iTunes Radio, Beats Music, iHeartRadio, NPR Music, Rhapsody, Rdio and, on one or more iOS devices to any room. With CasaTunes Air, homeowners can easily expand their existing whole house music system by adding networked and wireless speakers.
Homeowners can store entire music collections on the music server and can use the built-in music services to play a variety of disc, networked and popular Internet music, including Grooveshark, Pandora, SHOUTcast, SiriusXM, Slacker, Spotify and TuneIn. An unlimited number of playlists can be created and homeowners can listen to the same playlist, or a different playlist, in each room. Waking up and falling asleep to favorite tunes can be scheduled.
CasaTunes supports Control4's Simple Device Discovery Protocol (SDDP) automating the installation of CasaTunes drivers and automatically discovering and configuring CasaTunes components. The Control4 drivers are designed so CasaTunes music servers can be configured as a streamer for use with other AV Switches supported by Control4. This allows existing Control4 installations to add the advanced streaming capabilities of the CasaTunes music server.
The CasaTunes drivers for Control4 support all CasaTunes systems, including current CasaTunes distributed audio systems, legacy CasaTunes and those configured with third party audio matrix switches. CasaTunes integration is also available for RTI and Loxone home automation systems.
