Navy Awards Alion $34M Contract to Equip Warfighters with Latest Weapon Systems and Sensors

To support the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane, Indiana’s mission to equip warfighters with the most updated and effective weapon systems and sensors, Alion Science and Technology has been awarded a contract valued at up to $34 million.

Alion will deliver professional engineering, configuration management, data management, project management and quality assurance services in support of NSWC Crane’s Platform and Launch Systems Division (GXP).

Under this five-year indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, Alion will provide a full spectrum of services to two branches within GXP: Polymer Engineering and Underwater Sensor Branch (GXPS) and Logistics Branch (GXPQ). Work will include software and design engineering, acquisition, development, production, test and evaluation, integrated logistics support, reliability, maintenance and sustainment functions for a variety of Navy platforms, launch and missile systems, undersea sensors and polymer engineered products. Additionally, Alion will provide associated support and test equipment for these systems.

“We believe our capabilities are a good fit to help GXP meet their objectives, and the relationships we share with NSWC Crane’s stakeholders and customers provide us with the insight to support their goals,” said Greg Bryant, Senior Vice President and Manager of Alion’s Integration Solutions Group. “We are committed to GXP’s success, and with this contract, we can enhance existing programs while reducing the risk of developing and implementing new solutions.”

Alion teaming partners supporting this effort include Advanced Automated Corporation (AAC); Claxton Logistics Services, Logis-Tech, Inc.; McKean Defense Group; and Rite Solutions Corporation.
