Elektrobit’s Versatile IoT Device Platform to Develop Products with Wireless Connectivity and Various Sensors

Elektrobit (EB) announces a versatile and easily customizable EB IoT Device Platform. The platform offers customers a fast way to broaden their product offering into the IoT market with latest technology and optimized cost.

This device platform, that supports different operating systems like Android, can be used to develop products with wireless connectivity and various sensors, such as, smart watches, intelligent jewelry, and wellness wristbands. Due to the versatility and performance of the device platform, it also suites for Industrial Internet use, for example to M2M device development.

The EB IoT Device Platform is powered with the leading Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 400, 1.2GHz quad-core processor. It includes 512 – 2048Mt of RAM and up to 32GB of flash memory. The device platform supports also micro-SD memory cards. The operating system alternatives for the platform are Android 5.0 Lollipop or Linux, and it is also compatible for example with Android Wear operating system. The versatile connectivity options include WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and location information over GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System), and other connectivity options include GRPS/HSPA/LTE mobile networks. The device platform is integrated with a sensor module that includes an accelerometer, a magnetometer and a gyroscope. Additionally, there is a sensor interface on the platform that supports optical heart rate monitoring (OHR), as well as temperature, pressure (barometer), ambient light (ALS) and proximity sensing. In addition to a built-in microphone and Bluetooth audio, the platform can be equipped with speaker and MIPI camera. These features are provided in very compact size with low power consumption values. This flexible device platform is customizable according to customer needs and requirements.
