PROCAP 1 & 11: Capacitance Probe for Detecting the Presence or Absence of Material

By sensing minute alterations that are as low as 0.5 pF in capacitance, the PROCAP I and II standard capacitance probes are able to detect the absence or presence of material in contact with the probe. This is a result of the difference in the dielectric constant of the material versus the air.

They have simple calibration, provide interference free operation and fail-safe functionality, as well as being able to perform accurately even in sticky, dusty, or clinging materials.

A wide variety of extensions and probes, in addition to Class II hazardous location ratings, make these point-level capacitance probes ideal for many liquid, solid and slurry materials.

Applications

  • Concrete, mining, plastics, chemicals, food ingredients, coal/fly ash, pharmaceuticals, foundries, grain, feed, wood or paper processing and a number of other materials
  • Point level detection and process control for liquid, solid and slurry materials
  • Can be utilized in tanks, vessels, bins, chutes and conveyors
