Analogic Corporation Receives Clearance from the FDA for the SonixGPS® Nerve Block Needle Kit

Analogic Corporation, enabling the world's medical imaging and aviation security technology, announced today that it has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the SonixGPS® Nerve Block Needle Kit. The nerve block needles are used with Analogic's SonixGPS ultrasound technology, which is designed for guidance procedures such as nerve blocks for pain management and surgery.

Lockheed Martin to Install an Upgraded Version of its SkyLine Air Traffic Management System

Lockheed Martin will install an upgraded version of its SkyLine air traffic management system at the Korea Area Control Center in Incheon, Korea. The company will complete the work in partnership with prime contractor LG CNS. The new SkyLine system will replace a previous version of SkyLine, which has operated in Korea since 2001. The work was awarded following a competitive procurement.

Fluorescent Sensor Detects Date Rape Drug under UV Light

A team of researchers from the National University of Singapore (NUS) has developed the world’s first fluorescent sensor to identify the presence of a drug known as GHB that is commonly used to spike beverages. When the sensor is mixed with a sample of a beverage containing GHB, the mixture changes colour in less than 30 seconds, making detection of the drug fast and easy.
