Touchstone Semiconductor Launches New Dual Output Boost Regulator

Touchstone Semiconductor, a leading developer of high-performance, low-power analog integrated circuit solutions, today announced the TS3310 dual output boost regulator. The TS3310 consumes only 150nA of supply current. Boost regulators are traditionally the highest current consumer in a system during sleep modes. The TS3310 removes this major constraint in power budgeting and enables years of battery life from a tiny battery cell.

Raytheon Completes Demonstration of New USAF Expeditionary Ground-Based Prototype Radar

Raytheon Company successfully completed a customer demonstration of a new U.S. Air Force expeditionary ground-based prototype radar. Designed to replace the decades old TPS-75 radar system, the Three-Dimensional Expeditionary Long-Range Radar (3DELRR) will help defend warfighters against emerging threats by detecting, identifying and tracking fixed- and rotary-wing aircraft, missiles and unmanned aircraft.

Headset with Embedded Nine-Axis Sensors Tracks Head Movements

Plantronics, a pioneer in wearable technology, was honored last week at the Wearable Tech Expo for ‘Best Application’. Cary Bran, senior director of Innovation and New Ventures at PLT Labs, a group within Plantronics, demonstrated a concept headset with embedded sensors and the ability to track the person’s head movements. The award-winning application was a Google Street View mash-up that allowed an individual anywhere in the world to share their view remotely via Google Street View.
