Masimo rainbow Acoustic Monitoring Technology Enables Accurate Noninvasive Respiration Rate Detection

Masimo announced today that a new study to be published in the June 2013 edition of the journal Anesthesia & Analgesia (available online today) concludes that Acoustic Respiration Rate (RRa™) shows "significantly greater accuracy and precision for respiratory rate as compared to capnometry." Study results suggest that "the capnometer is about 3% less precise" than RRa (95% confidence interval, 0.9-4.8%).

Southern Water Utilizes HACH LANGE Instruments for Monitoring Effluents

Southern Water operates 370 wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), many of which are unmanned for most of the time and most have numeric environmental permits, so a network of online monitors has been established to improve treatment and protect discharge compliance. This has involved the installation of final effluent monitors at over 300 sites in a programme that has lasted for more than ten years.
