Future Motion Selects E Systems as OEM Manufacturing Partner

E Systems Technology announced today it has been selected by Future Motion, Inc., maker of Onewheel™ the gyroscopically balanced, single-wheel skateboard, as their OEM manufacturing partner. E Systems provides OEM level engineering and Product Lifecycle-based Manufacturing™ solutions.

As a result, Onewheel is being manufactured where it was created, in the innovation capital of the world - Silicon Valley and will benefit from E Systems’ Factory-Free™ approach to manufacturing and its OEM management, factory automation, product engineering and high volume expertise.

“We’re looking forward to a long OEM partnership with Future Motion supporting them as they develop and build current and next generation products,” said Robert de Neve, CEO of E Systems.

“Onewheel is a revolutionary product changing the way we interact with board sports,” said Kyle Doerksen, CEO of Future Motion. “Given the innovative technology associated with the Onewheel product, it was imperative that our manufacturing process was based nearby to ensure quality control and a strong collaboration between our engineers, product designers and the manufacturer. E Systems’ provided the perfect solution.”

As part of the on-going relationship, E Systems will also provide flexible engineering services (FLEXES™) a collection of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Supply Chain Management (SCM) and New Product Introduction (NPI) services intended to take the current Onewheel product from pre-production prototyping to factory mass production. E Systems will also provide high-volume manufacturing services for Onewheel using its scalable U.S.-based facilities. This means production can be done more quickly than at an offshore facility with the final product being created closer to the end users, cutting down on shipping time and the potential IP issues associated with offshore manufacturing.

“Working with Future Motion, we have created a new production paradigm which allows us to apply our previous OEM experience and automaton expertise to provide the customer with True Peer-to-Peer Collaboration™. This allows makers of consumer electronics, for the first time ever, to have a viable and preferable alternative to the outsourcing and off shoring of their high tech consumer products,” said Robert de Neve, CEO of E Systems.
