Vishay Identifies a Dozen Key Semiconductor and Passive Components Featuring New and Improved Technologies

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. today announced its “Super 12” featured products for 2016. Each year, Vishay identifies a dozen key semiconductor and passive components featuring new and improved technologies that can significantly improve the performance of end products and systems. Vishay’s Super 12 collection showcases the company’s industry-leading capabilities in semiconductor and passive devices and provides a cross section of Vishay’s very broad product portfolio.

The Super 12 products for 2016 are:

Vishay T58 Series of vPolyTan™ Solid Tantalum Surface-Mount Chip Capacitors — Combining polymer tantalum technology with Vishay’s high-efficiency MicroTan® packaging, the T58 series achieves industry-best capacitance-voltage ratings in six molded case codes — including 47µF-6.3V in the compact M0 (1608-10) case and 220µF-10V and 330µF-6.3V in the BB (3528-20) — to deliver increased volumetric efficiency for handheld consumer electronics.

Vishay Semiconductors VEML6075 UVA and UVB Light Sensor — Offered in a compact 2.0 mm by 1.25 mm by 1.0 mm package to save space in wearables, smartphones, and particle detectors, the VEML6075 is the industry’s first UVA and UVB light sensor with individual channel output for true UV index measurements.

Vishay BCcomponents 220 ELDC ENYCAP™ Series of Electrical Double-Layer Energy Storage Capacitors — For energy harvesting, power backup, and UPS power source applications, 220 ELDC ENYCAP series devices deliver high power density to 0.041 Wh and high capacitance values from 15 F to 40 F at 2.7 V in small case sizes from 16x20 mm to 18x31 mm.

Vishay General Semiconductor TPC11CA to TPC36CA Surface-Mount PAR® Transient Voltage Suppressors (TVS) — The AEC-Q101-qualified devices are the industry’s first bidirectional TVS to feature peak power dissipation of 1500 W in the compact SMPC (TO-277A) package with a low 1.1 mm profile. The devices offer an operating junction temperature to +175 °C to meet the high-reliability requirements of automotive, industrial, and telecommunications applications.

Vishay Dale Thin Film PCAN Series of High-Power Thin Film Chip Resistors — Built on aluminum nitride substrates, PCAN resistors offer power ratings to 6 W and resistance from 2 Ω to 30 kΩ in 1206 and 2512 case sizes. The devices are optimized as snubber circuits and burden, gate load, and amplifier termination resistors in industrial, military, and medical applications.

Vishay Siliconix SUM70040E / SUP70040E 100 V N-Channel MOSFETs — The ThunderFET® power MOSFETs’ maximum on-resistance of 4 mΩ is 60 % lower per mm2 than previous-generation devices, allowing them to significantly reduce power losses and improve efficiency in a wide range of applications, from solar micro inverters to charging stations for e-vehicles.

Vishay Sfernice PLA51 Medium-Power Planar Transformers — Offering power from 1 kW to 3 kW in a compact 70 mm by 53 mm by 22 mm size, PLA51 planar transformers provide high efficiency > 99 % typical for DC/DC power converters, on-board chargers for electric vehicles, power-control cooling units, and solar inverters.

Vishay Siliconix SiC530 VRPower® Integrated DrMOS Power Stage — Combining a driver and high- and low-side MOSFETs in a 3.5 mm by 4.5 mm PowerPAK® package, the SiC530 offers a 45 % smaller footprint than discrete solutions while delivering high power density with 30 A continuous and 40 A peak current capability.

Vishay Draloric TNPV Series of High-Voltage Thin Film Chip Resistors — The industry’s first such devices with operating voltages to 1000 V, TNPV thin film chip resistors can replace larger resistors and multiple devices in similar case sizes to save board space and lower costs. The resistors feature low voltage coefficient, tight tolerances, and low TCR for precise voltage measurement.

Vishay Siliconix SiHH26N60E / 600 V E Series Power MOSFETs — Offered in the compact PowerPAK 8 x 8 package, the 600 V MOSFETs are 57 % smaller than devices in the TO-263 (D²PAK) while featuring 1/5 the height. In addition, the MOSFETs’ Kelvin source connections provide increased performance by reducing gate ground loop.

Vishay Dale IHLD Series of Low-Profile, High-Current Dual Inductors — Designed to save space in automotive and commercial class D amplifiers, IHLD series devices feature two IHLP®-style inductors placed vertically in one 3232 or 4032 package. Featuring soft saturation and low coupling between adjacent inductors, the devices deliver high-quality audio with low distortion.

Vishay General Semiconductor V35PWxxx / V40PWxxx TMBS® Rectifiers — The rectifiers deliver high current density up to 40 A in a surface-mount SlimDPAK package with a low 1.3 mm profile. 57 % thinner than DPAK packages, the V35PWxxx / V40PWxxx also provide better thermal performance with a 14 % larger heatsink area.
