MotionDSP and Ascent Vision Partner for Creative Video Intelligence Solution

MotionDSP, a leading provider of image processing and computer vision software today announced a partnership with Ascent Vision Technologies, a manufacturer and distributor of best-in-class gimbal systems. By pairing Ascent Vision’s sensors with MotionDSP’s real-time image processing software, Ikena ISR, customers are provided with a video collection and processing solution that has the same capabilities of larger sensor systems, but at half the cost.

Ascent Vision’s sensors collect high-quality EO and IR video and stream that data directly to Ikena ISR. This system processes the feed and creates products in real-time (vs hours with other systems) that provide actionable intelligence to analysts, operators and inspectors. Ikena ISR’s multi-algorithm image processing is tuned to Ascent Vision’s sensor, extending the effective range, while creating a mosaic with the live video to allow users to instantly generate geo-referenced 2D maps.

“When lives, time or money are on the line, organizations need an end-to-end solution to collect and process video data,” said Founder and CEO of MotionDSP, Sean Varah. “Ascent Vision is an innovative, agile business making world-class sensors. They’re led by a highly respected management team with a wealth of experience in aerial imaging in both the military and commercial markets. They understand operating in high-stakes and time-sensitive environments so by partnering with them, we’re able to offer a complete video intelligence solution to customers.”

MotionDSP and Ascent Vision have worked closely together to create and optimize a video intelligence solution for commercial businesses and organizations that operate in high-stakes environments. Together, their solution solves challenges found in a number of industries including forestry, law enforcement, public safety, energy, inspection services and more.

When time, lives or money on the line, organizations need to be able to get in the air, collect video and quickly process that information to create real-time products that provide critical intelligence. For example, an operator in an aircraft needs to provide the ground crew with up-to-date information regarding the location of a fire line. Rather than calling out the location over a radio, live video can be processed and turned into maps to provide others with accurate information in a matter of minutes compared to hours with other systems.

“The Ascent Vision team is proud to announce our partnership with leading airborne software provider, MotionDSP in order to offer premium software capability to our customers,” said Tim Sheehy, Founder and CEO of Ascent Vision Technologies. Over the past several months we have been impressed by the MotionDSP team, and this partnership cements an already fruitful relationship. The airborne sensing industry is developing rapidly and we intend to remain on the leading edge of performance through aggressive innovation and creative solutions offered at an affordable price. The MotionDSP team and their suite of products are a welcome enhancement to the Ascent Vision portfolio and will serve to enrich our client experience on all fronts.”
