Advanced Vibration Monitor Added to Rental Fleet

Ashtead Technology has added the Vibrock V9000 Ground Vibration Monitor to its rental fleet of instruments. Portable, lightweight and battery powered, the V9000 is supplied fully calibrated and ready for immediate use, making it ideal for a wide variety of site investigation applications.

Typically, we supply vibration monitoring equipment to companies undertaking demolition, blasting, piling or construction work that involves hard break out, ground excavation or materials processing. In most cases vibration levels are monitored as a planning condition or in nearby buildings to create a permanent record of vibration during a project so that such work can be eliminated as the cause of any subsequent structural issues that may arise for other reasons.

Capable of running for up to 30 hours, the V9000 can trigger and record PPV (peak particle velocity) vibration intensity, acceleration and displacement parameters. An impulse mode is typically used for blast monitoring, and a continuous mode can be used for piling, rail, construction and road vibration monitoring.

Ideal for long-term, unattended monitoring, the V9000 is available to rent with 2 accelerometers which enable the simultaneously measurement of ground vibrations in two separate locations.

The triggering range is from 0.1 mm/s to 200 mm/s and the auto-record length is 2 to 18 seconds in impulse mode. The unit can also measure in ‘Vibration Does Value’ (VDV) to BS 6472 Part 1:2008. Live monitoring information can be viewed on the instrument’s screen, but data can be transferred to a PC via USB and exported in Excel.
