Iveda Solutions Launches SVC for Mobile Video Surveillance Applications

Iveda Solutions unleashes a new product called Streaming Video Converter or SVC in short which is a blend of a cellular broadband router and a video encoder with high performance features into the market. This device has been chiefly designed for mobile video surveillance systems and it facilitates live mobile streaming video operations over the Internet for both storage and remote access.

According to David Ly, CEO and President, Iveda, Market Research done by Frost and Sullivan, assess that the global market for mobile video surveillance devices, would be around $1.55 billion by the year 2015. The company was thrilled about the growth prospects of SVC.

The device was crafted as a plug and play model with easy installing features, and meant for all kinds of companies. The SVC is ideal for in vehicle applications, which are to be used for school buses, police cars, delivery, freight trucks and taxi cabs.

Iveda’s centralized video hosting and other real-time surveillance services, can be obtained via any analog-in-vehicle video systems. The SVC provides instantaneous, live access to video in a vehicle using cellular data network; thwarts general theft and truck ambush operations; helps field officers; and exposes vandalism and bullying acts taking place in school buses. Unlike other devices which store video footage inside a recording device inside the vehicle, the SVC stores video remotely at a completely fault free, Tier 4 data center, without any fear of unreliability, redundancy or damage or loss of data. There is also no need to spend hours on retrieving data, from numerous vehicles and their recording equipments. The vehicle need not even be present in the transportation yard, for data retrieval operations to begin.

According to Ronald Latko, Director of Arizona’s Mesa Unified School District, managing a fleet of 500 buses or so had already made use of Iveda’s converter and hosting service which were available seven years ago and would have used the cloud computing system too. He also stated that this was the state of art solution for school bus safety and security.

In the past, fleet management have employed technology to find out the speed of their vehicles, location, contents of the vehicle etc., but were not able to see them. This is achieved by SVC, as companies can ask for an on-demand visual appraisal of any vehicle and its surroundings, without any extra expense, resulting in obtaining remote access to vehicles, working in the field, and giving valuable support to upgrade operations and safeguard both employees and assets.
