AKCP has recently launched locateWater sensor that incorporates a rope of variable length for sensing contact with water on any particular wet spot along its length.
The rope length can be customized so that it can have many particular sensing locations spaced at intervals of 1 m or 1 ft. A single rope can be used for a maximum of 160 feet of location sensing.
The sensor can be connected to the intelligent sensor ports of sensorProbe RJ-45 and AKCP securityProbe for measuring water ingress at any particular section of the rope. This information can be utilized for triggering alerts like SNMP traps, phone calls, e-mail, and SMS. This sensor incorporates its own SNMP OID for enabling collection of data on the network by utilizing any Network Management System.
The sensor is ideal for use below elevated floors of data centers, raised ceilings or roof space, large spaces such as basements, or any place where water ingress will be disastrous. The sensor is useful for any business organization having disaster prevention plans.
