CO Sensors Monitor 700 Parking Spaces at Al Mutahidah Towers, Qatar

Gas alarm devices from MSR-Electronic protect people and parking areas from increased CO concentrations on several parking decks.

Pure luxury meets maximum safety. The Al Mutahidah Towers offers apartments of different sizes along with a range of penthouses, studios and other innovative residential models, all overlooking the waterfront and the marina of The Pearl-Qatar island. With indoor lounges, billiard hall, indoor and outdoor pools, fitness rooms, BBQ area, Kid’s area, rooftop relaxation areas, laundry service and numerous infrastructures as well as other amenities, nothing is lacking here.

Absolute safety from CO poisoning - with gas sensors (type SC2) from MSR-Electronic. A 3-storey car park with over 700 parking spaces is available to residents within the Al Mutahidah Tower. The car park meets all safety standards and is equipped with a gas warning system from MSR-Electronic in compliance with EN 50545-1 and EN 50271. The gas sensors monitor the harmful CO gas in the air, protecting people and the facility from dangerous situations in this car park.

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a highly toxic, odourless and colourless gas. It forms during the combustion process in car engines. It therefore poses a serious health risk, especially in underground garages. At high concentrations, it can be fatal. The use of a CO gas detector is therefore mandatory for public garages.

Solutions from MSR for reliable gas monitoring

The SC2 exchangeable sensor includes a digitalised measured value processing and self-control and is employed for continuous monitoring of the ambient air. It is used to detect toxic gases and oxygen. In addition to the electrochemical sensor element and the measuring amplifier, it contains a μController for measured value processing. All relevant data and measured values of the sensor element are stored in the μController in a fail-safe manner and are transmitted digitally via the local bus to the Sensor Board (e.g. SB2 or MSB2 from MSR). The calibration management is also integrated in the μController of the sensor. Calibration is done by simply replacing the Sensor or by using the integrated, convenient calibration routine directly on the system.

The CDGC-06 is used for the monitoring and warning of toxic and combustible gases and vapours as well as of Freon refrigerants within a wide range of the gas measurement technique. Numerous adjustable parameters and set-points permit individual adaptation to many applications. The DGC-06 Gas-Controller also fulfils the functions of CO monitoring in garages, tunnels and go-kart tracks and is compliant with the current EN 50545-1.

The entire support and installation of the MSR gas warning system in the Al Mutahidah Towers was carried out by the MSR Partner Systemair, Qatar.
