sensiBel Showcases New Automotive and Pro Audio Applications of its Studio-Quality Optical MEMS Microphones at Sensors Converge 2026.
What: sensiBel, the pioneer in optical MEMS sensing, will preview the industry's highest-performance automotive audio bus (A2B) MEMS microphone module for automotive applications such as context awareness, acoustic event detection, and road-noise cancellation. Offering 80 dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and 146 acoustic overload point (AOP), sensiBel's optical MEMS microphone technology - which is at the core of its A2B module - is more robust during manufacturing than the older acoustic technologies, electret condenser microphones (ECMs) and large capsules, on which automotive manufacturers currently rely.
sensiBel will also demonstrate the studio-quality performance of the SBM100B, its AES-3 MEMS microphone, which natively supports 24-bit audio and exceptionally high-resolution dynamic range of 132 dB. This exceptional level of acoustic performance matches the best pro-studio microphones, which are 50-100X larger by volume than the SBM100B.
Who: sensiBel is an award-winning Norwegian deep-tech company commercializing its optical MEMS microphone technology to achieve studio-quality acoustic performance in a compact MEMS form factor.
When: May 6 from 7:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.; May 7 from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Where: Sensors Converge, Santa Clara Convention Center, Room 206 - just one floor up from the main exhibition hall.
Why: sensiBel's digital MEMS microphones are the first optical MEMS devices of their kind. As such, they dramatically outperform the best capacitive digital MEMS microphones, which can't exceed 70 dB SNR and 100 dB dynamic range. At their performance level, sensiBel's optical digital MEMS microphones open new applications to MEMS microphones for the first time.
