IMI Sensors Launches Transmitters for Hazardous Area Applications

IMI Sensors, subsidiary of PCB Piezotronics, has declared the launch of their new series of industrial vibration transmitters of the 640 family, for inspecting pumps and motors located in the gas pipeline pumping stations.

These transmitters are ATEX and CSA certified for use in hazardous locations and their secure, robust, dual-cabled, loop activated vibration sensors with 4 mA to 20 mA power supply and are ideal for use in gas industry applications.

The vibration inspection of the natural gas lines’ pumps and motors help detecting the machine status, lowers maintenance, lessens the downtime and avoids disastrous loss. The Series 640 transmitters of the company deliver a 4 mA to 20 mA output signal, relative to the general vibrational levels of the machinery under inspection. The device is activated by a 12 to 30 VDC source, where the output cable can be interfaced to any of the prevailing DCS, PLC, and SCADA solutions.

These vibration sensors are shielded in welded, hermetically enclosed, stainless steel coverings. Explosion-resistant series of these particular transmitters are also available. . These sensors with approval for hazardous area applications are utilized on supply lines, multi-stage gas compressors, natural gas reciprocating engines, gas and oil well heads, and other machinery working in harmful conditions.

IMI Sensors’ vibration sensors serve predictive maintenance, condition monitoring, and process control demands. The company offers sensors that can be connected with the vibrational data collectors and validation devices, along with process sensing systems, DCS, alarm PLC, and SCADA systems.
