Novel QS30 Series Mid-Range Sensors

Banner Engineering has introduced two mid-range sensing devices to its World-Beam QS30 series, improving its short as well as long-range flexiblefield sensors for various purposes.

The QS30AFF400 foreground-suppression sensor along with the QS30AF600 background-suppression sensor provide linear imaging of 128-pixel for varied industrial applications, involving feeder-bowl control, part-in-place detection, and package detection on conveyors.

The QS30AFF400 executes foreground suppression for precisely identifying target substanceshaving different color or shape in a permanent background. On the other hand, the QS30AF600 performs reliable objectdetection when the background is not regulated or fixed and avoids the objectsituatedafarfrom the sensing area.

The modified cutoff range of QS30AFF400 is of 50 mm to 400 mm, having sensing range up to 400 mm for all sensor colours, whereas the adaptablecutoff range ofQS30AF600 is of 50 mm to 600 mm, 600 mm sensing range for the 90% white card sensorand with400 mm sensing range for the 6% black card sensor. The minimum sensing range or dead zone of the 6% black card sensor is about 30 mm.

The sensing range of every version can be attuned with a screwdriver potentiometer or using the remote-teach cable input. The red LED visiblesensing beam of the sensor facilitates the configuration. Both the models of QS30 sensors can be accessible in a waterproof, epoxy-protected IP67-certifiedd enclosure, making them ideal forextreme industrial condition usage.
