E+E Elektronik Introduces Ultra Compact Temperature and Humidity Sensor

E+E Elektronik has introduced a groundbreaking temperature and humidity sensor called the HCT01.

E+E Elektronik's Ultra Compact Temperature and Humidity Sensor

It is the only SMD humidity sensor without digital processing and which need not be modified by the end users. Power supply is not required for the HCT01, enabling it to be used for battery-operated or energy-conserving applications.

With traditional models, the inclusion of the sensor into numerous, available control circuitries is sometimes not possible. This is due to the inclusion of transmission of the calibrated information and interfaces for the digital evaluation. This makes the integration process of sensors into existing applications more difficult. E+E Elektronik¡¦s HCT01 can overcome this difficulty.

The HCT01 sensor is compact in size and measures temperature and the relative air humidity with ultra precision. The capacitive humidity sensor is pre-adjusted in the factory itself and thus end users can proceed without complex adjustments later on, which in turn eliminates an integrated ASIC. Thus, the sensor can be used for numerous OEM applications.

The HCT01 sensor is a very compact sensor utilizing advanced thin film technology at cleanroom environment. Its measurement offset for humidity at a relative air humidity range of 30 to 70% amounts to only ¡Ó 2%. The temperature sensor is produced in two versions such as molybdenum and platinum version. It offers more accurate measurement values of up to 3000 Ohm.

The HCT01 sensor¡¦s operating range is from -40 to 140„aC, and makes it suitable for an industrial application. The sensor¡¦s DFN housing allows soldering with the reflow process. The sensor features a protective film to safeguard the active sensor surface from salts and dust.
