Radar Systems in Poseidon Aircraft for Naval Surveillance Missions

Raytheon Company has signed an initial production contract with Boeing to manufacture six long-range, multi-missions naval and land observation radars. The company will also provide spare parts for the P-8A Poseidon aircraft.

Boeing will receive these products as part of the P-8A contract with the U.S. Navy that will replace the earlier P-3 aircraft for observation along the U.S. seacoast. The sensing device had been developed for deployment in the Navy's Poseidon aircraft in place of the APS-137 radar and will transmit actionable data across all weather conditions, incessantly for anti-submarine-and-surface warfare and intelligence and investigation tasks.
