The Checker system from Cognex has been incorporated by Reconcile Engineering into their packing assembly line. Reconcile is a company that produces label inspection and reconciliation systems that are used by global suppliers of optical media packaging producers.
This development has come about in answer to the need of packers of CD/DVDs who wanted to ascertain that the language printed on the cover matched that of the contents. It also meets the need of pharmaceutical packers who have to count complicated labels.
Checker’s component identification sensor is ideal for detecting the text printed on the CD boxes. It can inspect and identify multiple colors and patterns removing the need for external triggers. It synchronizes component rejection on different speed lines with the help of encoder counts. It can report details about what it is sensing so that it gives individual data on each piece or unit that is being packaged.
The use friendly solution can be installed onto the machine with a company monitoring unit. It is connected to a central computer network to enable aligning of the lens with the product.
