The device is targeted at owners and managers of facilities and premises that need energy saving. It allows users to glean information about their energy consumption and savings directly from the systems, equipment and meters. It uses an IP-based communications interface to offer concise information on energy status to SQL databases, websites like Google PowerMeter and Pulse Energy's Pulse, or the free PAC Project’s software. This allows users to understand key issues and reduce costs.

This year the device has been commended for its advanced technology and importance as a data recorder and provider in the ‘Network Integration’ category. This is the 10th time Opto 22’s products and achievements have been recognized. It was specifically chosen for its SNAP PAC Wired and Wireless controller and intelligent I/O for Allen-Bradley Systems (IO4AB).
