The battery life of all the nodes of the SmartMesh IP has been extended to last for 10 years by using Eterna802.15.4e SoC technology, from Dust Networks. With the new technology, sensors can be installed at any desired location and connect them without using wires;once the mesh network is set up, the maintenance is taken care of by the network itself. Setting up of such a network becomes an easy task even for technicians who do not have wiring experience.
SmartMesh IP has the distinction of being the first product from Dust that comes with Location Awareness capabilities. By exercising this option, customers are able to get location information of any node in the network. This feature proves extremely useful for service personnel to attend to the issue by locating the node in the network. The architecture of this mesh network offers many networking options to the users from full mesh to the star network. The Network manager of the network is able to offer security management and optimize the throughput of the network. The evaluation kit is a comprehensive package that facilitates data monitoring, network monitoring, digital actuation and event notification.
