Ultra-scan Develops Multi-Modal Solid State Fingerprint Sensor

Ultra-Scan ,an international pioneer in ultrasonic identity management solutions has recently concluded fabrication of the solid state fingerprint sensor, which is capable of acquiring both capacitance and ultrasonic slap, four finger, and rolled fingerprint imagery after six years of research work and spending $30M in research and development.

They strived to design a tiny and lightweight device able to generate four finger images with good quality. Its reduced size and thickness ensures its use in military and law enforcement applications. Three desktop prototypes of the sensor’s ultrasonic version have been presented to the US Government for evaluation, expecting to submit formal test data in early 2012. The Company is looking for partners to enable increased quality, volume and cost effective production of the completed design and to identify an OEM partner to support with bulk volume solutions commercially through distribution channels.

Ultra-Scan is an existing management solutions provider supporting the government, healthcare, transportation security, and financial markets. The company has submitted 99 domestic and international patents current and pending, and is the unique provider of Livescan Ultrasonic Identification Systems globally.
