SpeedGauge Introduces SpeedGaugeAnywhere System for Monitoring Speed of Trucks

SpeedGauge, a provider of location-based analytics and business intelligence for the insurance and trucking industry has declared the launch of SpeedGaugeAnywhere that helps the fleets to develop speed zones across any custom location, which is not under the speed limits set by the government.

The company has been providing the speed monitoring system on highways and streets throughout the world. With this SpeedGaugeAnywhere, the fleets can set up speed zones in distinct places, ranging from oil fields to logging roads to ports. Within the set speed zones, the fleets can operate in custom speeds and can monitor the violations in speeding as it is done on city streets and interstates. The GPS analysis and coaching tools can be integrated with the SpeedGaugeAnywhere system for safe and smart driving.

Since October, the beta testing of SpeedGaugeAnywhere was performed by the British Columbia-based Lomak Bulk Carriers. Ralph Bowler, Driver Supervisor for Lomak Bulk Carriers stated that the company used the SpeedGaugeAnywhere system to monitor such things as the unafe driving performance of its fleet on mine and forest roads, which are not seen on the map. Bowler said that safe driving practices are required on these roads due to the seasonal construction. The SpeedGaugeAnywhere system also allows them to quickly set the speed limit to take into account changing conditions for dangerous access ways and roads.

Chris Kantarjiev, SpeedGauge’s chief technology officer and co-founder, stated that using SpeedGaugeAnywhere, safe driving is ensured until the roads are safe. Kantarjiev added that the company’s SpeedGaugeAnywhere is incorporated with Google Earth’s kml format, which enables it to support GIS data files. Kantarjiev said that the company has designed the SpeedGaugeAnywhere system for assisting the users driving outside the public road network and fleets to monitor their safety.
