Corning to Highlight FTTA Solutions for Wireless Services at Mobile World Congress

Corning Incorporated's Telecommunications segment today announced it will showcase its full suite of wireless products at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, February 25-28. Corning will highlight how its multi-operator, multi-service distributed antenna systems (DAS), fiber connectivity and fiber-to-the-antenna (FTTA) solutions cost-effectively and efficiently enhance wireless services.

Corning will showcase several products offered by Corning Cable Systems and Corning MobileAccess. Those include the MobileAccess2000, MobileAccessHX, and MobileAccessVE DAS solutions, and connectivity and cabling solutions utilizing multi-fiber connector technology, including low-profile FTTA hardened interconnect and terminal solutions.

Corning's wireless solutions are designed to help carriers meet growing demands for wireless coverage and capacity. The company's fiber-to-the-cell site products are high-bandwidth solutions that ensure carriers' backhaul needs are met, while its FTTA solutions offer reduced installation time and cost savings compared to traditional coaxial-based cabling. The Corning DAS supports all core technologies, including 4G LTE, and helps carriers provide high-quality voice and data services indoors.

"Over the past few years, we've seen the demand for Corning's wireless offerings grow as carriers increase investments in DAS, fiber connectivity and FTTA solutions," said Mike O'Day, vice president, Wireless Networks, Corning Cable Systems. "We expect this to continue throughout 2013 and beyond, particularly as people continue to use multiple devices, and data consumption increases."

Demonstrations and examples of all Corning telecommunications solutions will be displayed at the company's booth, #6E13, Hall 6, at the Fira Gran Via conference center. Mobile World Congress will be held February 25-28.
