Industrial Mobile Data Terminal Combines Fleet Management with In-Vehicle Surveillance

Advantech, a leading mobile computing provider, launches its latest industrial Mobile Data Terminal that combines all the best functions of fleet management with in-vehicle surveillance.

Fleet owners, public transportation and emergency services will all benefit from its high resolution video and DVR, cellular connectivity, and real-time location and vehicle diagnostic information. Multiple I/O interfaces provide interconnectivity with a combination of up to twelveanalog camera channels, oneIP camera channel, and multiple displays. There is also a 7” vehicle display system available for mobile resource management applications:the new TREK-303DH display with a slim and sleek design works perfectly with the TREK-668 Mobile Data Terminal. TREK-303Dsupports an automotive-grade working temperature range (-30 to 70 degrees). And it supports a resolution of 800x480; it is compatible with TREK box solutions with a single cable connection. TREK-303DH can be easily controlled from the button located on the side; and for night driving the panel has an auto detecting light sensor to automatically adjust brightness

Implement Everything in One Powerful Box
TREK-668 is a powerful multi-tasking,certified, in-vehicle computer, powered by a dual core Intel® Core™ N2600 processor at 1.6Ghz and DDR3 memory up to 2GB. TREK-668 supports high-quality MPEG-4, MJPEG, H.264 hardware encoding, providing high definition D1 resolution video with DVR recording from two externally accessible SSD or SATA 2.5" MHDD drives with key protection. It also has one PSE for a digital IP camera, and a dual display interface which supports different resolutions, and each camera input provides motion detection. TREK-668 is designed with two externally accessible trays with a 2.5” HDD or SSD slot. An end-user can pull the two trays out when they need to save data from the storage devices. And the mechanical design can resist shock and vibration in the vehicle environment, avoidingproblems from system crashes or data loss. The HDD/SSD mechanical design with a USB interface allows users to efficiently upload data. Reliable onboard DVR storage records all your video and tracking data which means end-users only need one space-saving device. This reduces the total cost of ownership and makes integration and upkeep easier.

TREK-668 supports GPS tracking and positioning, as well as dead-reckoning, which allows a truck to be traced even if the driver is in a tunnel. All common in-vehicle computer interfaces are available including CAN bus and the new J1939 protocol which allows TREK-668 tointerface easily with a vehicle's systems for real-time diagnostics and driver behavior information. This keeps passengers safe and allows vehicles to operate longer.

Packed Full of Features and Rugged Too!
Designed for a wide range of rugged transportation applications, TREK-668 accommodates a wide-range power supply from 9~32 VDC, certified by ISO 7637, e mark and SAE J1113. It also has a software controlled ignition on/off delay for accurate vehicle power management. TREK-668 is also designed to withstand vibration and shock and meets all CE/FCC/E-mark, MIL-STD-810G, ISO 7637-2, SAE J1455, SAE J1113 regulations and certifications. TREK-668 can operate in extreme environments supporting a wide working temperature range (-30 to 70 degrees) with a thermal design and extruded aluminum heat spreader.

Seamless Communications Enables Real-time Management
TREK-668’s built-in communication modules include: GPS, WLAN & WWAN (CDMA/GPRS/HSPA+). The system can send real-time location and driver behavior telemetry back to a control center. TREK-668 supports dual-WWAN and SIM, and an end-user can also benefit from TREK’s 3.75G WWAN roaming feature. This allows automatic transfer of signal from one telecom provider to another when a weak WWAN signal is encountered or when crossing boundaries tracked by GPS. This feature provides more safety and makes the system more cost-effect to operate.
