Kratos' SAT to Provide RF Interference Mitigation Solutions to Major South American Satellite Operator

Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc., a leading National Security Solutions provider, announced today that its SAT Corporation (SAT) subsidiary has been selected by a large South American satellite operator to provide RF interference mitigation solutions, including SAT's industry-leading Monics® carrier monitoring product.

Monics is an enterprise networked advanced spectrum measurement and interference analysis system used by the majority of satellite operators and telecommunications providers in over 57 countries around the world.

This Monics implementation will combine hardware and software components to monitor satellite uplink and downlink performance, enabling the operator to provide the best signal quality for its customers. Monics' native scalability and flexibility support a fully distributed, autonomous system for monitoring payload traffic and RF interference, including co-channel interference.

To support Monics, SAT will also provide its SAT-DSP spectrum analyzer. SAT-DSP offers superior performance compared to conventional spectrum analyzers with faster and more accurate measurements as well as time domain measurements. SAT-DSP's time domain mode provides carrier-under-carrier analysis, which has proven vital for Digital Video Broadcasting carriers, for whom continuous service is essential.

"We are pleased to see that the value of SAT's solutions are being recognized around the world, especially as satellite operators upgrade their systems in preparation for major world events such as those coming to Brazil over the next few years," said Bob Potter, President of SAT Corp. "Monics provides the scalability needed to detect and analyze RF interference events as fleets continue to expand."
