AnyDATA’s 3G-Enabled Dosimeter Automatically Transmits Atmospheric Radiation Levels to Remote Servers

AnyDATA Corporation has announced the ARD400-W, a 3G-enabled dosimeter that automatically transmits the atmospheric radiation level and its location to remote servers for data sharing and archiving through the AnyCARE Service Platform.

Utilizing its expertise in wireless device technology and connected solution platforms, AnyDATA has developed a complete, end-to-end safety solution for people at risk of exposure to harmful radiation. The ARD400-W has already garnered praise around the wireless world, winning 1st place in the Consumer Electronics: Tablets and Embedded Devices category of CTIA’s Emerging Technology (E-Tech) Awards last year.

With the ARD400-W, users have the latest technologies at their fingertips to keep them safe in areas with high risk of radiation contamination. The discreet, handheld device is equipped with a high performance CsI radiation sensor to monitor the current atmospheric radiation level, as well as the lifetime radiation exposure level of the user. As part of AnyDATA’s complete solution, the device’s integrated speakerphone and panic alert button provide one-touch connection to a call center operator in the event of an emergency. In addition to the Call Center connection, the device is integrated with the AnyCARE Service Platform for automatic transmission of radiation and location data for mapping and archiving. The AnyCARE Service Platform’s secure API system allows select business partners to develop solutions using the radiation map and location data without the fear of compromising the sensitive data.

“This connected radiation safety solution is a good example of how wireless technology can be expanded beyond simple communication tools,” said Dr. Soon B. Shin, CEO of AnyDATA. “We are excited to offer innovative wireless solutions for the safety of residents and reconstruction workers in Fukushima, Japan.”

To provide the most complete solution, AnyDATA has partnered with numerous industry leading companies including Qualcomm Japan and Techno AP, a Japanese company with years of experience producing radiation sensors. The ARD400-W has been certified for use in Japan and has undergone extensive field trials in Japan’s radiation affected areas.
