ISKN Join CEA-Leti and AEPI to Present at MEMS Executive Congress 2013

The CEA-Leti start-up ISKN, which recently completed a highly successful crowd-funding project, will join Leti and AEPI, at the MEMS Executive Congress in Napa, Calif., Nov. 7-8.

ISKN recently raised $346,127, nearly ten times its Kickstarter goal of $35,000, for its launch of iSketchnote, a smart iPad cover that integrates a new digitizing technology with the convenience of a notebook. Company executives will present at the conference’s inaugural MEMS Elevator Pitch Session, a showcase event that will feature the most promising MEMS technology companies and business innovators today. The audience will include venture capital funds, seed investment funds, angel groups and other investors as well as experienced entrepreneurs who will get a closer look at upcoming companies.

Co-sponsors Leti and AEPI will also host the morning coffee break on Friday, Nov. 8 (10:45-11:15).

They will offer materials and information on Leti’s advanced multi-purpose MEMS and NEMS platforms, and the technology, business and support infrastructure that makes Grenoble-Isère a global center of innovation in micro- and nanotechnologies, sensors and semiconductors.

The MEMs Executive Congress, organized by the MEMS Industry Group, will be at The Meritage Resort & Spa, Napa, Calif.

It specializes in nanotechnologies and their applications, from wireless devices and systems, to biology, healthcare and photonics. NEMS and MEMS are at the core of its activities. An anchor of the MINATEC campus, CEA-Leti operates 8,000-m² of state-of-the-art clean room space on 200mm and 300mm wafer platforms. It employs 1,700 scientists and engineers including 320 Ph.D. students and 200 assignees from partner companies. CEA-Leti owns more than 2,200 patent families.

About AEPI

AEPI, Invest in Grenoble Isere, France, provides complimentary information, introductions and services to assist companies in exploring partnerships and business opportunities in France’s Silicon Valley, Europe’s top center in micro-nanotechnologies and home to STMicro, Movea and Tronics, among others. Ask us about R&D funding via collaborative projects, tax credits, etc.

Working closely with CEA-Leti, Minalogic (cluster for micro/nano, and software solutions) Tenerrdis (renewable energy cluster) and LyonBiopole (microfluidics, electronics for health, nanotech for drug delivery, detection, diagnostics ….), AEPI is also a member of the local board of the Semi Europe Grenoble office, and active in the European project Silicon Europe.

About ISKN

ISKN was founded by a multidisciplinary team coming from CEA-Leti. ISKN develops and commercializes an innovative, perceptive surface in ways that combine the natural experience of familiar tools with the power of digital technology. Developed with Leti sensor know-how over the past three years, ISKN's patented technology will be integrated into many new devices and for multiple applications (3D animation, game board, whiteboard…). The company is based in Grenoble, France.

About MEMS EXECUTIVE CONGRESS

Now in its ninth year, MEMS Executive Congress is an annual event that brings together business leaders from a broad spectrum of industries: automotive, consumer goods, energy/environmental, industrial, medical and telecom. It is a unique professional forum at which executives from companies designing and manufacturing MEMS technology sit side-by-side with their end-user customers in panel discussions and networking events to exchange ideas and information about the use of MEMS in commercial applications.
