Lumenera Corporation Launches 6.0 Megapixel CCD USB 3.0 Camera

Lumenera Corporation, a leading manufacturer and developer of high-performance digital cameras and custom imaging solutions for industrial, scientific, surveillance and astronomy markets, announced today the release of the company’s new high performance USB 3.0 industrial camera based on Sony’s EXview HAD II ICX694 CCD sensor, running faster than any other USB 3.0 camera on this sensor at 27 frames per second (fps) at full 2752 x 2192 resolution.

The Lt665R is Lumenera’s latest high-performance USB 3.0 CCD camera that draws the most from the industry leading Sony EXview HAD II sensor technology. The ICX694 sensor-based Lt665R reliably delivers full resolution frames at the maximum achievable speed. The combination of the ICX694 sensor with an incredibly fast USB 3.0 data interface delivers up to 27 fps at full 6.0 megapixel resolution. This camera is ideal for applications where high speed, sensitivity and resolution are critical including traffic, tolling, ophthalmology, life sciences, metrology, high speed inspection, machine vision and NIR applications.

The Lt665R takes advantage of Lumenera’s unique memory buffer technology so frames are not lost while running the camera at the sensor’s maximum output. The compact, robust design of this camera, measuring 43 x 43 x 65 mm, allows for easy integration into tight spaces and systems with 4 mounting points on all 4 sides. The locking USB 3.0 cabling and digital interface ensure a simple plug-and-play installation. No framegrabber is required. Simplified I/O cabling is provided through a locking Hirose connector supporting external power input along with 1 optically isolated output, 1 optically isolated input and 2 configurab le I/O ports.

Lumenera’s “R” designation identifies that this product has been engineered to provide industry leading low read and dark current noise. This combination provides imaging in difficult lighting situations, or even into the NIR range.

“Lumenera is excited to release the Lt665R camera which capitalizes on the performance of the Sony ICX694 EXview HAD II CCD sensor, and is the only one to achieve 27fps at full resolution on USB 3.0.” stated Eric Ramsden, Product Manager, Lumenera Corporation. “This camera has excellent sensitivity, provides high dynamic range with low noise, and reliable delivery of images through our advanced frame buffering technology.”

The Lt665R is available in color and monochrome, is now available for order. For more information on the Lt665R, or Lumenera’s other USB 3.0 products visit, or AIA The Vision Show, booth #422 from April 15-17, 2014.
