New Miniature Ultrasonic Liquid Level Switches from Measurement Specialties

Measurement Specialties, an expert in sensor design and manufacturing, now offers the LL-01 Sentio Series of miniature ultrasonic liquid level switches that combines ultrasonic technology with reliable analog circuitry to precisely measure aerated liquids. The rugged, 316L stainless steel sensors are not affected by the dielectric or optical properties of liquids.

The series reliably detects liquid levels in space-constrained applications, such as fluid storage tanks, compressors, boiler tanks, hydraulic reservoirs and chillers. Many OEM markets including medical and histology, HVAC, industrial automation, chemical delivery and waste management benefit from the sensors' advanced properties.

The compact, cost-effective design, including the integral analog circuitry, allows easy integration into a wide variety of industrial equipment. The fluid level detectors come with either 1/4" NPT or 1/2" NPT threaded fitting, and use no moving parts for exceptionally long-term operation.

The new switches handle pressures up to 250 psig (1,724 Kpa) as standard with higher pressures up to 500 psig (3,447 Kpa) available. Input power is 5 VDC to 30 VDC and standard relay output is 0.5 A SPST in a normally opened configuration, with a normally closed relay option for high level fail-safe operations.

A 4-20 mA power loop output can also be incorporated into the new sensors to ensure that signal accuracy remains unaffected by voltage drop or to supply operating power to the device.

Each unit offers transient and reverse polarity protection against surge damage. Operating temperature is -20 degrees F to +176 degrees F (-29 degrees C to +80 degrees C). Repeatability is 2 mm or better and leak current is less than 50 microamps.
