Synaptics Introduces ClearPad 7200 Series Technology for Touchscreen Market

Synaptics Inc., a human interface solutions developer for mobile communications, entertainment and computing devices, has introduced its new ClearPad 7200 Series technology to address the trend of large-sized touchscreen consumer electronics products.

The ClearPad 7200 Series, using the full-image sensor technology of Synaptics, is suitable for OEMs developing various products requiring multiple-finger touch capability, such as slates/tablets, notebooks, and ‘fourth screen’ systems such as electronics readers and photo frames.

‘Fourth screen’ devices that include digital photo frames, digital home controllers and electronic readers are providing novel ways for consumers to consume and create content in an adaptable multi-function capable device.

The ClearPad 7200 Series, developed for supporting screens that are glass based up to 10.1", uses a multi-ASIC based, high-performance architecture, which can simultaneously distinguish around ten finger touches with low latency, precise finger disambiguation, fine accuracy and high report rate.

The ClearPad 7200 Series supports both USB and I2C interfaces, which are commonly required with consumer electronics products that support Google Android and Microsoft Windows 7. Moreover, ClearPad 7200 Series will comply with the Microsoft Windows 7 Touch API meant for large touchscreens.
